    What you need

    • Room at home

No garden required. A flat works as long as the dog gets out often enough — it is the walks that count, not the square metres.

    • Time in the day

A dog staying with you needs to go out three or four times a day. If the day will not stretch that far, start with walks or drop-in visits instead.

    • Got your own dog?

That is fine, but say so in your profile. Plenty of owners want a home with another dog in it — others want their dog to be the only one.

    • Experience

No formal requirements. Say which dogs you are used to, and turn down what you are not comfortable with — every request is your call.

    Payment, reviews and other animals

How you get paid, how reviews build up and what applies to cats, small pets and horses are all covered on our pet sitter page.

Questions about becoming a dog sitter

    What do I get paid?

You set your own price. The median among dog sitters on Woof is 300 kr a night, and you keep 255 kr after the 15% fee.

Can I do this in a flat?

Yes. Most dog sitters in the big cities live in flats. What matters is how often the dog gets out, not the size of your home.

Do I have to be able to handle any dog?

No. You read every request before accepting, and you meet the dog and the owner first. Say no to anything you are not comfortable with.

How many dogs can I take at once?

That is up to you. Many start with one dog at a time and take on more once they have a few reviews.

    How soon can I start?

The profile takes about ten minutes. After that you are visible to owners near you and can get requests straight away.
